Why Japan?

From the start of his studies, Saikoushik was eager to gain international exposure. “During my graduation, I always wanted to work abroad and experience a different culture,” he shared. When his college introduced the opportunity for students to be placed in Japan, Saikoushik knew this was the perfect chance to fulfill that dream.

How His Education and Internships Paved the Way

Internships played a crucial role in Saikoushik's journey. During his interview for a role in Japan, his past internship experience was a key talking point. “They asked a lot about my internships, and since I had hands-on experience, I was able to confidently explain my work,” he said.

Saikoushik completed an internship at CCC Digitals, where he worked as a web developer. His team built a website from the ground up, which gave him the skills and experience needed for the role he eventually secured in Japan. “That internship was a big help because the company was looking for someone with exactly that kind of experience,” he added.

The Challenge of Working Abroad

For Saikoushik, working in an international environment is a dream come true. “As a fresher, getting to work in a new country is like a gift,” he explained. He views the opportunity as a chance to learn and grow, especially since his long-term goal is to create a product that people use in their daily lives, like Instagram or Facebook.

But, of course, the journey wasn’t without its challenges. The biggest one? Language. “Communication is important everywhere, but especially in Japan. Without it, you can’t do much,” he admitted. Learning Japanese and adapting to a new culture has been tough, but Saikoushik believes that these challenges are part of the growth process.

The Emotional Ups and Downs

Moving to a new country comes with its share of emotional highs and lows. “It’s all very new and challenging,” Saikoushik said. But whenever he faced doubts, he reminded himself to ask for help. “Don’t hesitate to ask your elders or people you trust for advice. Having a good rapport with people around you really helps.

Cognavi’s Role in Her Journey

Cognavi played a major role in Saikoushik’s success. “Cognavi helped me upskill myself,” he shared. He particularly appreciated features like Humai and Position AI, which went beyond just focusing on technical skills—they helped him become more well-rounded and better prepared for the global job market.

Where He Is Now

Today, Saikoushik works as a Web Specialist at Forum Engineering in Japan. His role focuses on front-end development, using technologies like TypeScript, JavaScript, and React. He’s excited about the future and is determined to continue learning and growing in his field.
